Welcome to Georgia Saltwater Adventures I am Captain, Kevin Dezern. I operate a charter fishing company located in Coastal Georgia. I have been fishing the areas around St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Cumberland Island my whole life, I have been a professional guide since 2004. Last year I ran over 250 trips. My experience and time on the water makes sure we find the fish. We specialize in inshore and offshore charters for a wide range of species of fish depending on the time of year. We also offer sunset cruises and dolphin/ sightseeing tours. Our goal is to make sure you and your family have the best trip possible making memories to last a lifetime. Our trips are 100% private and can accommodate up to six people, we can arrange other boats for larger parties. My boats will always be clean and comfortable for your trip whether it's a family trip ,a business trip or just fishing with friends. Captain Dave is a Long time professional guide in Southeast Georgia. Dave has run his own charter operation and you tube channel Downstream Dave. Dave has a passion for fishing that pours out and into his charter guest. Dave is the ultimate Cheerleader and professional guide . Dave has extensive knowledge fishing our coast. He is highly requested for our inshore and family trips and clients love his southern hospitality. Captain Dave Gives max effort on each charter and it really shows. He cares deeply for all his clients and charter guest quickly turn into life long friends. How many people are in your group?
We can take up to six people on any one boat. Some trips are better for 1-4 people and others are better for bigger groups. We can book multiple boats for you and even offer a fishing tournament for your group. We accommodate corporate groups and multiple boat bookings if you have a larger group and we will plan it all out for you.
Group trips
We have the ability to book multiple boats with some amazing captains in the Golden Isles. We offer some of the best guides in the country to take you fishing. We can even offer a tournament with prizes for your group, ask about details.
All of our captains are family-friendly, with extremely clean boats and years of knowledge that will help you have a trip of a lifetime.
How long of a trip
I will always recommend a 6 hour fishing trip, as it will allow us the opportunity to travel where we need to find the fish you're looking for and have plenty of time to get your fill for the day. We offer 4,6, and 8 hour fishing trips
4 hour Great way to get out on the water, have some great fishing and have the rest of your day to explore The Golden Isles of Georgia.
6 hour This trip opens up a lot of options for the anglers, in terms of where and what we can fish for. It will allow us a greater opportunity to find your target fish and catch plenty of them.
8 hour This trip is for the guests who just love being on the water all day, or those who want to go further offshore. Our 8 hour trip gives us the best chance to find the fish you are targeting and the quantity.
WHAT TYPE OF FISHING TRIP
We offer just about every type of saltwater fishing here on Georgia's Coast.
Inshore fishing
This trip offers a chance to explore the marshes and estuaries of the Golden Isles while staying close to shore. All of our trips can be tailored to specific requests. Typical species we target for inshore include Sea trout, Redfish, Flounder, Tripletail, Whitting, Sharks, and much more.
Shark/ Tarpon
Our shark trips are a fan favorite, we will encounter many species of sharks. We can target big sharks over 6 feet and 100 pounds or go after pup sharks and catch a lot of them.
Tarpon fishing off our coast is one of the best-kept secrets in the country. June to September we encounter a large migration of Tarpon that typically range from 80 to 200 pound fish. This fishing trip is for the angler that is looking for a trophy catch of a lifetime. For this trip, I recommend at least a 6 hour day.
Bull Redfish
This is one of my favorite types of fishing. Talk about catching a "Bull by its FIN", these are big fish and we can catch a lot of them. Fall is the best time of year to target Bull Reds.
Offshore Fishing
Offshore fishing is a big category. We will go anywhere from 10 to 60 miles offshore and target an endless variety of species.
We can go trolling or bottom fishing. We can target King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Amberjack, Grouper, Snapper, Black Seabass, Barracudas, Sailfish and so much more. Ask your guide about your options. Our Offshore trips range from 6 to 10 hours.
Snapper Banks or 40 mile Bottom trips
This is our most rewarding offshore trip we will venture 45 to 62 Miles offshore. We will encounter multiple Snapper species Mutton, Mangrove, Vermillion and Yellow tail. We will see Grouper, Triggerfish, African Pompano, and a slew of other great eating fish. This is a longer trip that is definitely our most rewarding trip for big and edible eating fish. We have broken state records on these grounds and are knocking on the door of new records every trip.
Kids Fishing Trips
This is by far one of our favorite trips to run as a guide. We offer 2-4 hour fishing trips all centered around introducing kids to saltwater fishing. We guarantee you will catch fish! Its all about the kiddos. We stay close to the shore and we target a variety of fish including Sharks.
Frequently asked questions
What do we do about motion sickness?
Take motion sickness medicine the night before and the morning of your trip, better safe than sorry. We highly recommend a scop patch or formal name scopolamine, which can be obtained by your health care provider and in our opinion is 99% effective.
Do we clean your fish?
Yes, we do this as part of our service for you. Tips are appreciated by the captains but not mandatory.
Are clients supposed to tip?
Tipping is not required, however, they are appreciated. Mates work solely for tips.
What is a good tip

Do we charge your card before your trip?
Take a deposit of $100 to $250 for your charter. If the weather doesn’t allow us to go or be rescheduled will refund your deposit.
IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER?
In case of bad weather, your captain will contact you to discuss your options and offer to reschedule.
When should I book?
It is best to plan your trip out as far in advance as possible. We do have special charters to make sure we get everyone on the water. If I am booked I will find you one of our captains that is available. Private sunset cruise/Dolphin Tours
$350 Our boat is designed for comfort and the ability to move around the boat with plenty of room. This trip includes pricing for 4 guest and we can add aditional guest for $25 each up to 6 guests total.

Let's Go Shrimpin' Aboard the Lady Jane
The Lady Jane a is a one of a kind excursion that can only be experienced here in the beautiful Golden Isles. Although she is an actual commercial Shrimp Trawler, she has been retrofitted for the purposes of ecotourism, education, and fun! Our 1.5 to 2 hour excursions takes place in the estuary's of Glynn County in calm and protected waters. Help Captain Cameron and his crew sort through the abundant sea life that is caught in each trawl while gain a full explanation on what the animals do in the ecosystem. The Lady Jane amenities include an enclosed cabin, restroom, covered rear deck with seating, and ample room to explore the vessel while enjoying the view. We look forward to having you aboard soon!
